Makanda, IL (home of Presley Tours) is the centerline for the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024.  The total solar eclipse will occur at 1:59 p.m. with the partial phases starting at 12:42 p.m. and ending at 3:19 p.m.  For 4 minutes, 8 seconds, it will be like nighttime with bright stars visible in the sky.  The black moon will be rimmed by the flares of the sun.

Join Presley Tours for this exciting event, basically in our back yard. Travel to Makanda, IL to arrive at our office in plenty time to get settled in our large yard to watch the eclipse. For your comfort, please bring a lawn chair as they will not be provided. Special eclipse viewing glasses will be provided. The office will be open and drinks and light snacks will be available. Following the eclipse, we will go to Giant City State Park Lodge for an early dinner to consist of their famous Family Style Fried Chicken including golden brown fried chicken, mashed potatoes, country milk gravy, scratch dumplins, homestyle green beans, buttered corn, creamy coleslaw, homemade biscuits & butter, beverage & strawberry shortcake. Following dinner, we depart for home. This will be a day that you will not soon forget. (D)
