Itinerary

Day 1
You have a choice of riding the shuttle from your regular departure point or meeting us at Lambert Airport for our flight to Boston. A welcome reception is held upon arrival in Hyannis, followed by dinner with entertainment, complete with birthday cake for dessert. Included Meal: Dinner

Day 2
After breakfast, a local guide meets us for a tour of Hyannis, where we see the John F. Kennedy Memorial, Hyannis Port, St. Francis Xavier Church and the Hyannis Armory. There will be free time for lunch and shopping on Main Street. This afternoon we visit the John F. Kennedy Memorial Museum. Visit the Cape Cod Maritime Museum. Take some time to stroll through Aselton Park, past the Peace Corps Memorial.

Day 3
Breakfast is included this morning. Your local guide meets you at your hotel. We travel historic Route 6A, the Old King’s Highway, a scenic byway winding through centuries of Cape Cod history. View the Eastham Windmill and a Cape Cod Lighthouse and visit the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor’s Center. Today the Seashore encompasses more than 43,000 acres. Sand dunes and the ocean surround you as you approach “Land’s End” – Provincetown. Take some time to enjoy the wonderful variety of restaurants, shops, and galleries that make this artists/fishermen village so unique. Board an excursion vessel for an amazing experience of whale watching. An onboard naturalist introduces you to everything you see and will answer questions about the whales, birds, fish and lighthouses. If you wish to stay on dry land, admission is included on a Dune Tour excursion. You ride along the shoreline of the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore. Your driver/guide will point, out the “dune shacks” where famous artists and writers became inspired to create their art.

Day 4
Breakfast is included this morning. Your local guide meets you at your hotel and escorts you to the high speed ferry to the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Upon arrival you board a local bus for a sightseeing tour. You learn about the history and lifestyles of the islanders as you pass through Vineyard Haven. There will be free time for lunch and shopping in the historic whaling town of Edgartown. Complete your day on the island in Oak Bluffs. You may choose to stroll through “Cottage City.” A lobster dinner is included this evening back on the mainland. Alternate entrées will be available for any “landlubbers” not wishing to eat shellfish.

Day 5
Today we say goodbye to Cape Cod, meet our local guide and travel to Boston. Begin your day with admission to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. You enter the re-created world of the Kennedy Presidency for a “firsthand” experience of John F. Kennedy’s life, legacy and leadership, and special Centennial Anniversary exhibits. Enjoy free time for lunch on your own at Quincy Market and visit Faneuil Hall where JFK delivered his final speech of his 1960 presidential campaign. After lunch, board your coach for a driving tour. View sites and landmarks in the city thatplayed an important role in JFK’s rise to the White House. Your guide will point out sights along the Freedom Trail, as well as the Boston Common and Public Gardens. Sights you see today include Rose Kennedy Greenway Park, Old City Hall, Omni Parker House, Old Hotel Bellevue and 122 Bowdoin Street Apartment, Massachusetts State House and the JFK Statue. Dinner is included at Ye Olde Union Oyster House, the oldest continuously operated restaurant in the United States, and a favorite of President Kennedy. Booth #18 is the” Kennedy Booth.” After dinner, we check in to our hotel in Boston.

Day 6
Breakfast is included this morning at your hotel. Check out and depart for home with sand in your shoes, seashells in your pocket and fond memories.
