Itinerary

Day 1
Our tour begins today as we meet our fellow travelers and journey toward Stevensville, Michigan, where our accommodations await us this evening.

Day 2
We drive north to Saugatuck and stop at the Saugatuck Dune Rides. Take a dune buggy ride and learn about the lost town of Singapore. Later, as we travel north toward Ludington, we stop for lunch on our own. This afternoon, we make a stop at the Historic White Pine Village, an exciting, interactive, historical, and educational experience in a beautiful and serene setting overlooking Lake Michigan. After checking in at our hotel in Ludington, we enjoy an included dinner at PM Steamers, located on the bay with a one-of-a-kind view of the sparkling waterfront and the home of the historic steamer, SS Badger. Hopefully, we will be able to witness the “ringing of the bells” at PM Steamers when the Badger returns to her home port each evening about suppertime.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3
We enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before driving to the home port of the SS Badger, our home for the next four hours as we sail across Lake Michigan to Manitowoc, Wisconsin at an average speed of almost 16 knots. There is plenty to do as we enjoy the many onboard amenities of the ship, such as the outside deck area, deli-style snack bar, buffet-style dining area (lunch is on our own today on board the ship), upper deck and aft lounges, gift shop, ship’s store, quiet room, museum, 2 TV lounges and a movie theater lounge. As we approach Manitowoc, we board our motor coach on board the ship, drive off the ship at the dock, and drive north toward the Sturgeon Bay area of Door County. We pick up our step-on-guide at the Door County Visitors Center, drive by the shipyard and orchards then on to Schopf’s Dairy Farm, a family–owned farm with at least 500 cows. We have time to stop at the Sturgeon Bay Shipping Canal and walk out to the break wall to view the scenery and take pictures. Before we check in at the beautiful resort hotel, The Lodge at Leathem Smith, we enjoy a delicious, included, family-style dinner in the Grand Ballroom.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 4
We enjoy a full day of touring the upper peninsula of Door County with our local guide. We stop at Whitefish Dunes State Park, the Bjorklunden Chapel on the shores of Lake Michigan and a stop for an included lunch at the famous Al Johnson’s Restaurant, with great food and goats on the roof. After lunch, we have some free time in Sister Bay before we stop at Seaquist Farm Market for a tour and some browsing time. We continue to Peninsula State Park, which provides excellent photo opportunities before we journey on to Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. This evening, we enjoy a traditional Door County Fish Boil dinner.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5
This morning we head south toward Lake Geneva to the Paine Mansion Art Center & Gardens in Oshkosh, WI. A docent gives us a tour of the mansion. After lunch on our own, we continue our journey to scenic Lake Geneva, WI, where we check in at the beautiful Harbor Shores Hotel Resort directly on the lake. This evening, we walk next door to the Riviera docks and board the Grand Belle of Geneva for an included farewell dinner cruise on scenic Lake Geneva.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 6
As we load the motor coach and depart the hotel for home, we are again surrounded by the beauty of the Lake Geneva area and South Central Wisconsin. We have time to visit with fellow travelers and reminisce about the good times, great food, and beautiful scenery on our trip as the miles quickly go by.
