7-Day Western Caribbean Coach and Cruise

Some of us love to cruise, but we just don’t like to fly. That’s the beauty of our Caribbean Coach & Cruise. We get together and travel by motor coach to New Orleans and board the Norwegian cruise ship –the Norwegian Star! Our Seven-night Caribbean cruise with four ‘ports of call’ including Costa Maya, Belize, Roatan Bay Island, and Cozumel offers us endless food, entertainment and exciting port excursions.

Itinerary

Day 1
What could possibly be more enjoyable than a cruise into the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea with a congenial group of fellow travelers? We glide south through Memphis to overnight in Grenada, Mississippi.

Day 2
Upon arrival at the dock we transfer to our Norwegian Star ship for a spectacular seven-night cruise. Cast away your cares as you enjoy all the amenities and comforts this ship has to offer. It’s seven nights of fun with the ship’s first class casino featuring all of your favorite slot machines and gaming tables. In addition, there are wonderful meals, nightly live entertainment and the hospitality of the friendly staff. As New Orleans fades away into the sunset begin the cruise with a scrumptious dinner buffet. After dinner stroll around the ship and get acquainted with your home away from home.

Day 3
Today is a day to enjoy the many shipboard activities and wonderful food. You can relax on deck soaking up the sun, swimming or reading your favorite novel, bargain hunt in the ship’s duty-free shop or play the slots in the casino. Tonight dress in your finest as we will meet the Captain and his Officers while enjoying the great entertainment.

Day 4
Our port of call is Costa Maya, Mexico. Sandy stretches of beach trail along the turquoise Caribbean Sea lining Costa Maya, a sunbather’s dream come true. Our optional excursions combine culture, adventure, and personal service along with the insight only natives can bring to a site. One option would be to experience the culture and hospitality through a personal interaction with a Maya family at their home. Hear the sounds of their language, learn about traditional Maya life, savor an authentic Maya meal, make new friends and celebrate Maya culture as it unfolds right before your eyes.  Or you may choose their signature excursion – Mayan Experience Tour. It captures the Maya history at Chacchoben ruins and the colorful culture of the modern Maya at Chacchoben Village.

Day 5
Nestled between Mexico and Guatemala on the Caribbean coast of Central America, Belize is one of the few remaining unspoiled places on earth and our port of call today. What’s better than relaxing on the beach, working on your tan, or swimming at the beautiful secluded beach of a Belizean island?
Spectacular natural attractions and the excitement of discovering ‘Mother Nature’s Best Kept Secret’ draw travelers from around the globe, promising both relaxation and the richly rewarding authenticity they seek in a genuine Caribbean getaway. There is other optional sightseeing available from Land Rover Jungle Tours to Snorkeling and Scuba Diving.

Day 6
The Bay Island of Roatan in the Caribbean Sea is surrounded by various cays and smaller islands. It is a true paradise off the northern coast of Honduras, Central America. The coral reef or cay that surrounds the island of Roatan is the second largest in the world. Blue skies, wonderful turquoise waters, and a warm sun will welcome you to our port of call this morning.  On your optional sightseeing you may want to experience the unique landscape and the local culture on a history tour of Roatan and the Bay, explore the Gumbalimba Park & Pirate Cave or join fellow divers and snorkelers.

Day 7
This morning our floating resort will bring us to port at Cozumel. Legend has it that Cozumel’s first tourists were the likes of Jean Lafitte, Henry Morgan and Sir Francis Drake. Long before the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadors, Mayan women made pilgrimages here to worship Ixchel, the goddess of fertility. The town of San Miguel on Cozumel is well-known as fishing and diving center, and nearby Palancar Reef is a magnet for snorkel and scuba enthusiasts, attracted by its beauty and crystal clear waters. There’s charming youthful atmosphere about San Miguel, with its cafes and shady terraces. Optional shore excursions include a 50 ft. glass bottom boat ride over the famous Paradiso Reef, and a Cozumel Ruins Beach Tour. Enjoy the breeze of the Caribbean waters as we leave Mexico. This Caribbean night will make you feel great….grab a cool drink and enjoy!!

Day 8
Rise early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise on the blue Caribbean waters, or perhaps you would rather sleep in. Either way today is your day to spend as you wish. Tonight is our last night onboard, so let’s make it memorable. We’ll say farewell to our new friends that we’ve made on our fabulous cruise. The entertainers and staff will have a wonderful farewell show, so sit back and enjoy. After six days of sun, fun and sea, our floating resort will ply the Gulf of Mexico northward and return to home port in New Orleans.

Day 9
Upon disembarking, be sure to gather up all your mementos, gifts and special purchases, and board our awaiting motor coach. We travel north to Grenada, Mississippi for our overnight stay.

Day 10
The magical spell of New Orleans, the sea and the ship will provide plenty of conversation for the return trip, and for years to come.
